Sujata Design Studio

Sujata Design Studio is located in Vidhisha Apartment, right in the Dahanukar Colony area of Kothrud, Pune. It is basically a flat that we have turned into a workspace. It’s a nice neighborhood with plenty of trees, which makes for a good environment when you’re trying to come up with new ideas. The studio is usually filled with rolls of paper, fabric swatches, and various drawing tools scattered across the tables. It gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of projects going on at once. We don't have a big receptionist or a lobby; you just walk in and see everyone working. Most of our time is spent bent over desks or staring at screens trying to get a specific look right. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoons. Kothrud is a busy part of Pune, so there’s always noise from the street below, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't a massive agency with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small group of us who enjoy the process of making things look good. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up, and other days we head out early if the work is done. It’s a very informal place, and we like it that way because it keeps the pressure low and the focus on the sketches.
