Our sweet shop and production area are located at Gut No. 884 in Nehru Nagar. We are quite close to the Latur Medical Collage, so we see a lot of students and hospital staff passing by every day. The smell of sugar and ghee usually fills the air around our place. We spend a lot of time in the back where the big pans are kept. It gets very hot near the stoves, especially when we are making large batches of traditional sweets. We aren't some giant factory with conveyor belts. Most things are done by hand, from stirring the milk to shaping the final pieces. The front counter is simple with glass cases to show what we made that morning. We don't have a fancy menu with descriptions. People usually just point to what looks good. Some days are much busier than others, like when there is a festival or a local wedding. We have to start very early in the morning to get everything ready before the sun is fully up. The floor can get a bit sticky, so we are always mopping it down. Our office is just a small corner with a stool and a desk where we keep the daily accounts. We don't do much in terms of promotion. The taste of the sweets usually brings people back. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep things consistent. We usually close up late once the last of the evening crowd has headed back home.
