S. Y. Bijjargi

If you walk through Bhudawar Peth and head towards Kasturba Market, you will find us tucked away there. S. Y. Bijjargi is a small operation, mostly just me and a couple of others helping out. The market is always crowded, especially on the weekends when people have some time off. We open up the shutters pretty early, usually while the air is still a bit cool. There is a lot of dust and noise from the street, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We have a lot of regular people who stop by just to say hello or ask about what we have in stock. The shop is not very big, so we have to stack things high up on the shelves to make it all fit. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for. I usually eat my lunch right at the counter while watching the people walk past. It is a good spot for people watching. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the name on the door. It is honest work and the market has a good energy to it even when the weather is bad. We just keep doing what we do every day and hope for the best. It is a bit cramped inside but it feels like home now. The ceiling fan squeaks a bit when it is on the high setting but we don't mind.
