S R Marda & Co is on the first floor of the Sidheshwar Cloth Market. This is in the Mangalvar Peth area of Sholapur, or Solapur as most people write it now. The market is a very lively place to be. We are also right next to the post office, or "Post Office Bajula" as the locals say. This makes it very easy to handle any mail that needs to go out or come in. Being on the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the street below, which is always full of people buying and selling cloth. The noise of the market is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. Our office is a straightforward space. It is filled with the usual office supplies and stacks of documents that seem to grow every week. We don't spend much money on fancy decorations because we are more focused on getting the work done. It is a traditional kind of office where things are done a certain way because that is how they have always been done. We have many regulars who have been coming to see us for years. They just walk up the stairs and come right in. There is no front desk or receptionist, just us working at our tables. It is a very grounded place to be. We like being part of the Sidheshwar Cloth Market community because it feels like the heart of the local trade.
