We are located in the Solapur MIDC area on Akkalkot Road. Our spot is Plot Number C-8/7. If you know Solapur, you know the industrial area is quite large and can be very hot. We are right in the middle of all that activity. There are trucks constantly driving by and the sound of other factories nearby. Our space is mostly taken up by the textile machinery and the storage area for the finished goods. The floor is hard and we spend most of the day standing or moving between the different sections. It’s a practical workspace, not a showroom. We have a small cabin in the corner where we handle the invoices and phone calls. The air is often thick with the smell of the machines and the fabric. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high, as the metal roof makes the building heat up fast. Lunch is usually a quick affair so we can get back to the work. We deal with a lot of bulk orders, so there is always a sense of urgency to get the packing done. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, just the calendars and the safety signs. It’s about getting the textiles out the door every day. We keep a large stash of packing tape because we go through it so quickly.
