Kyatam Textiles

You can find us out on Akkalkot Road in the Midc area of Solapur at Plot No. 15. If you know anything about Solapur, you know that textiles are a huge part of the city’s life. We are just one small part of that long history. Kyatam Textiles is not a giant factory with thousands of workers, but we keep our looms going every day. The sound of the machines is like a heartbeat for the building. It is loud and it never really stops during the shift. We make things that people use in their homes every day. Most of our workers are local people who have lived in Solapur their whole lives. Some of them even learned how to weave from their parents. It is a traditional kind of business. We do not use much high-tech equipment if we can avoid it because we trust the older ways of doing things. The warehouse is usually full of finished goods that are waiting to be loaded onto trucks. We see a lot of traffic coming through this part of the city. It gets very dusty and the sun can be really harsh in the summer but we stay focused on the work. We do not have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy ads. We just have our reputation and the people who keep coming back to us year after year. It is a simple and steady life for us here at Plot No. 15 and we enjoy the work.
