Mauli Clinic

If you go out towards Karajagi from Akkalkot, you’ll find Mauli Clinic. It’s situated right there in that area, near the edge of town. It’s a modest little place, really. We’ve got a small waiting room with some plastic chairs that have seen a lot of use. People come in from the nearby fields and the local houses, usually with their kids or their elderly parents. There’s a bit of a breeze that comes through the door when it’s open, which is nice because it can get quite hot in Akkalkot. We don't have those electronic calling systems; we just poke our heads out and call the next person’s name. The walls are painted a plain color, and we keep some basic supplies in the cabinets. It’s the kind of place where things are done simply. We know most of the faces that walk in, which makes the day go by a bit faster. Sometimes the wait is a bit long if there’s a lot of people, and folks just sit and chat with each other while they wait. It’s not a big city hospital with lots of machines, just a local clinic trying to help out the neighbors. We do our best with what we have, and we’ve been part of this little community for a while now. It’s just us, the clinic, and the folks from around Karajagi.
