Lakshmi Knitters

Lakshmi Knitters is out in Kumbhari, specifically located at No. 514/1/1 in Vijay Nagar. We are situated pretty close to Sujhata Talkies and the Kumbhari Theatre, so it is usually quite easy to find us if you are in that part of town. The sounds from the theatre often drift over to our workspace during the day. The shop is mostly full of various knitting machines and big spools of yarn. It is quite a sight to see when everything is running at the same time. It gets loud and busy, but that is the way we like to work. We aren't a polished retail outlet or a fancy showroom. This is where the actual work happens. There are always piles of finished knits waiting to be packed up and sent off to where they need to go. The floor is just plain concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that doesn't really bother us much. We are more concerned with making sure the machines are running smoothly and don't snag the yarn. We have a small crew, mostly people who live right here in the Vijay Nagar neighborhood. We take our tea breaks together and talk about whatever movies are playing at the nearby theatres. It is a very grounded way to work. No one here is trying to be fancy. We just wear our regular clothes and get things done.
