Kotalapure Textile Industries is right here on Akkalkot Road in Solapur. Our place is in Vittal Nagar, part 2, specifically at house number 41 and 44. If you know the area, it's pretty easy to find once you get past the main junction. It gets really hot in Solapur during the summer, so we keep the fans running all day long in the unit. There is always a lot of thread and cloth lying around because that is what we do. We started this because there was a need for work in this part of town. The neighbors know us well. Usually, the morning starts with the sound of the machines getting ready. We aren't a giant corporation with thousands of people, just a local setup trying to do things right. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait, but that’s just life here. We handle a lot of textile work and it keeps us on our feet. My uncle used to say that Solapur runs on textiles, and being here in Vittal Nagar, you really feel that. There’s no fancy lobby or anything, just a workspace where things get done. We spend most of our time checking the looms and making sure the fabric is coming out okay. It’s a lot of manual work and paying attention to small details every single day.
