J & L Agri Private Limited

Our base is in Pornima Society in Solapur. It’s a regular residential society, and we’ve set up our office in one of the units there. It’s a quiet place, which is good for focusing on the agri business. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything. Most of our work involves talking to people over the phone and managing the supply side of things. We have some basic furniture, a few old computers, and a lot of folders stacked up on the shelves. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when we have visitors, but we manage. My cousin helps out with the bookkeeping and I spend most of my time on the phone with the field staff. Solapur can get very hot, so the fan is always on. We aren't trying to look like a big corporate office. We just need a place to stay organized and keep track of the shipments. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing outside and it gets a bit loud, but it’s a nice environment to work in. We’ve been here for a few years and the local people know us. We don’t do any big advertising; we just rely on the work we do to keep things going. It’s a straightforward operation and we like keeping it that way. Every day is different, but we stay focused on the daily tasks.
