If you head down to E-99 / B in the MIDC area on Akkalkot Road, that’s where you’ll find Goski Terry Towels. We’re in the business of making towels, which means our workshop is always full of lint and the constant hum of the machines. It’s not a quiet job, but you get used to the noise after the first hour. We spend our days checking the looms and making sure the thread is moving like it should. Sometimes a machine jams and we have to spend half the morning fixing it, which can be frustrating, but it’s part of the trade. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to open the door for you. Usually, we’re all too busy in the back to notice someone has arrived unless they shout. We focus on the weight and the feel of the fabric because that’s what matters in the end. It’s a hot environment, especially in the summer months, but we keep the fans going and get through it. We aren’t a huge corporation with thousands of employees; we’re just a local outfit making something that people use every day in their bathrooms. The MIDC area is pretty rough around the edges, with lots of trucks and dust, and we fit right in. We just keep our heads down, watch the machines, and make sure the bundles are packed up correctly for the next shipment.
