Danish Decorators

Our workshop is over at 611 North Kasaba in Solapur, which is right near the Punjab Talim. It’s one of those older parts of the city where everyone knows each other’s business. Most of our days are spent surrounded by rolls of fabric, stacks of wooden frames, and boxes of lights that we use for decorating. Danish Decorators has been around this neighborhood for a while, and we’ve seen a lot of changes on these streets. The space is usually a bit of a mess because there is always a project halfway finished on the floor. We don't have a big fancy storefront or a team of secretaries. It is mostly just us getting our hands dirty and making sure the decorations look right for whatever function is coming up next. Sometimes the weather in Solapur makes it tough to work outdoors, especially when it’s windy and we’re trying to put up tents or banners. We just deal with it as it comes. Often, we are working late into the night at North Kasaba to get everything ready for an early morning setup. It is a lot of physical labor, and my back definitely feels it after a long week. We don't make a big fuss about what we do; we just show up, do the work, and head home to rest before the next job starts. It is a simple life but it keeps us busy.
