Associated Garments Cluster Foundation

Our foundation is located in the MIDC area of Solapur at W-26. Solapur is known for its textiles, and being in the industrial zone puts us right in the middle of all that action. We work as a cluster, which basically means we are a group trying to coordinate garment work around here. It’s a lot of talking to different local units and trying to get everyone on the same page. The building is a standard industrial shed type of structure. It’s practical and built for work, not for showing off. The sun gets really hot in Solapur, so we spend a lot of time making sure the fans are running. We have meetings here with different local makers to discuss how to improve things. It’s not about big profits or fancy branding; it’s about the community of garment workers in this district. There’s a lot of history with textiles in this city, and we are just one small part of it now. The roads in the MIDC can be a bit bumpy, and there is always a lot of truck movement. We’ve got a small office inside the main unit where we keep the records. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction and factory work nearby. We just focus on the task of keeping the cluster moving forward. It is honest, local work that supports a lot of families in the area. We keep things going.
