Architect Prabhakar V Kawalgikar

I have my office, Architect Prabhakar V Kawalgikar, set up at 19 Murarji Peth inside the Shanti Sadan building. It is office number one, right on Station Road in Solapur. If you are walking down towards the Kalpana Theater, you will find us just before you get there. Being in the 413001 area means we are right in the thick of things. The station road is always busy, which I like because it feels like the heart of the city. I’ve been working as an architect for a long time now. It is mostly about listening to what people want for their land or their old houses and then trying to put that onto paper. It takes a lot of patience and a lot of drawing. The office isn't anything too special, just a place to work and meet with people who need help with building plans. Solapur has its own style and its own challenges when it comes to construction, and I try to work within those realities. Sometimes things go slow with permits and sometimes they go fast, but that’s just the nature of the job. I don't use a lot of fancy software if a pencil and ruler can do the job better. People come by when they are ready to build something new or fix something old. It’s a quiet life of work here near the theater, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It keeps me busy enough and I enjoy the routine.
