Aanand Organic Foundation

We started Aanand Organic Foundation right here in Shrirampur because we saw how things were changing on the farms nearby. Our office is just at Suchitapaharpur. Most of us here have roots in the village, so we know the dirt and the crops. It isn’t some big corporate thing. We just spend our days talking to people about how to grow things without too many chemicals. Sometimes we sit out back and just look at the fields. It’s quiet work, mostly. We get a lot of visitors who just want to know if their vegetables are okay or how to get their soil right. We don't have fancy brochures or anything. It's just a few rooms where we keep our tools and some seeds. Shrirampur is a good place for this. The weather gets hot but the people are hardy. We’ve been here for a bit now, just trying to make sense of the land. It’s not always easy, especially when the rain doesn’t come on time. But we keep at it. We share what we know. If someone needs help with their backyard garden or a bigger plot, they just drop by. We’re usually around, unless we’re out at one of the farms helping someone. It’s just how things go around here. No big speeches, just dirty hands and a lot of patience. That’s what Aanand Organic Foundation is really about, just being part of the local scene here.
