Sumit Spices

Our place, Sumit Spices, is located way out in Village Shambhu Wala. It’s part of Tehsil Nahan in the Sirmaur district. Being in a village means things move a bit slower than they do in the city. We have a small building where we process the spices. It’s mostly local stuff that comes from the farms around here. We don’t have any big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just me and a few others from the village working together. The road to get to us can be a bit rough, especially after the monsoon rains come through. We spend a lot of time drying things out in the sun when the weather permits. The machinery we use for grinding is loud and fills the whole place with a fine dust. We usually wear cloths over our faces to keep from breathing it in. It’s a simple life out here. We know everyone who walks through the door, and most of our business is done with a handshake. We don’t have a big marketing budget or flashy labels. We just put the spices in bags and sell them to whoever needs them for their cooking. Sometimes we sit outside under the tree when the power goes out, which happens quite often in this area. It’s just how things are in Shambhu Wala. We’re just a small village business trying to get by.
