Our business, S.P.D.S. Export And Import Private Limited, is tucked away in Village Kanyola Upperlakwarni. We’re based out of Dhani Ram’s place near the Pole Da Khala post office. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the address, but it’s a quiet place where we can actually get some work done without the usual city distractions. We mostly deal with the logistics of moving things in and out of the country. It’s a lot of manual tracking and staying on top of the various rules and regulations. We aren’t some high-polished firm with a fleet of cars. Most of the time, we’re just sitting here with our ledger books and a computer, making sure things are on track. The village is small, so news travels fast, and we like keeping a good name by just being straightforward with people. Sometimes the roads up here can be a bit of a challenge for the delivery trucks, but we’ve figured out the best ways to manage that over time. We don’t really go in for any of those big mission statements you see on websites. Our goal is just to finish the day’s work and prepare for tomorrow. It’s a lot of practical, sometimes boring stuff, but it’s our living. We’re just local people doing our best with the trade business we’ve built up. It's not always exciting, but we take it one day at a time.
