Up here in Vill Sayar, the weather can be a bit unpredictable, but the work doesn't stop. We are located in the Arki tehsil of Solan district, right in Himachal Pradesh. Our office is near the Darlaghat post office. It’s a beautiful area, but the roads are steep and the trucks have a hard time sometimes. That’s where we come in. We help the local guys with their transport finance needs. Whether they are moving goods through the mountains or just starting out with one vehicle, they come talk to us. We’ve got a small team here who knows the local geography and the challenges the drivers face. It’s not like working in a big city office with elevators and air conditioning. We have the mountain air and sometimes a bit of mud on the floor when it rains. We sit around the desk and go over the paperwork until it’s right. Most of the people who come in are people we see at the market or in town. We keep things very informal and friendly. There’s no need for suits or ties here. We just want to make sure the local transport business stays moving. It’s a quiet life in Solan, but we stay busy enough with the people who depend on their vehicles. We just do our part and keep the files organized. The mountains are a tough place to work, but it feels good to help out.
