Maa Vaishno Sweets

You can find us at Maa Vaishno Sweets right in the Naya Bazar area of Nahan. We are very close to the Kalisthan Temple, so we get a lot of people passing by on their way to pray. The shop has been here for a good long while. We open up early to start preparing the sweets for the day. The smell of frying and sugar usually fills the whole street by mid-morning. It is a small shop, and we don't have much room for people to sit down, so most customers just buy what they want and keep walking. Naya Bazar is a narrow place, and it gets really loud with all the shoppers and traders calling out. We just stay behind the counter and keep the trays full. Sometimes we get a bit overwhelmed during the festival season, and the whole family has to come in to help out. We don't use any modern machines; most of what we do is by hand. It’s the way we learned, and it’s how we still do it. The floors are a bit worn down from years of walking, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s our place. We don't do any big marketing or have a website. If you want something, you just come to the shop near the temple. That is how it has always been for us.
