M /S Ambuja Cements Ltd

This is the lab side of things for Ambuja Cements Ltd out here in Darlaghat. I work as a lab technician, and my name is Deepak Kumar Mehra. We are located right near the company hospital in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. Being up in the hills, the air is a bit different, but the work is still steady and keep us busy. Most people know the cement plant is the main thing around here, but the lab and the hospital part keep everything balanced for the workers and the local families. We spend our days looking at samples and doing the technical stuff that keeps the place running right. The address is a bit long to write out, P.O. Darlaghat, Pin 171102, but once you are in the area, everyone knows where the Ambuja setup is located. It’s not like a big city office where everything is made of glass and steel. It’s a practical building meant for actual work. Sometimes it gets a bit cold in the winters here in Himachal, but we just keep the heaters going and stay on task. We don’t really do marketing or anything like that because we have a specific job to do for the company and the people who live around here. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but there is always a test to run or a report to file. We just try to be helpful.
