Our place is situated in Village Amboya, which falls under the Paonta Sahib post. We are right in the Tehsil Amb part of Sirmour district. If you are looking for us, we are quite easy to find since we are located near the government school. You can usually hear the kids playing or the school bell ringing while we are working with the stones and minerals. It is a dusty kind of job, as you can imagine with mining work, so our clothes usually end up looking a bit grey by the end of the shift. The hills around here in Sirmour are beautiful to look at, but they make the work hard too. We spend a lot of time checking the loads and talking to the truck drivers who come through. It gets really hot during the summer months and the shade under the trees near the school is the only place to catch a breath. People around here are mostly farmers or workers like us. We don't have any fancy signs or big glass windows. It's just a yard with some equipment and a small room where we keep our papers.
