Jahanvi Earthmovers

Jahanvi Earthmovers is up here in Village Shamlech. We get our mail through the Bohli post office in the Solan area. Being out in the hills means the work is different than down in the flat lands. We deal with a lot of heavy equipment that has to handle the steep terrain. It’s a small family-run thing we started. My brother and I saw how much construction was starting in the tehsil, so we opened this place. The shop is just a basic structure. It’s not meant to look pretty or impress anyone. We have tools everywhere and the floor usually has some kind of dirt on it. That’s just how it is with earthmovers. Solan is a beautiful place, but the weather can make the work tricky. When it rains, everything slows down on the sites. We spend those days cleaning the gear and making sure the engines are ready for when the sun comes out. We don't have a website or a social media page. People just know us because we live here and they see us around. We have grown up in Shamlech. Our neighbors know they can knock on our door even after hours if something breaks down and they are stuck. We try to be helpful. It is not about being the biggest business in the district. We just want to do right by the people who hire us. Sometimes we have to drive quite far to reach a site. It is hard work.
