Best Western Royal Park

Down in Solan, you will find us at the Royal Park. It is a bit of a climb to get up here in Himachal, but the air is definitely better than down in the plains. The building is solid and has been here for years. We spend a lot of time making sure the heaters work in the winter because it gets really cold at night. Our team is mostly local people from the nearby villages who have been working here a long time. The kitchen is always a bit chaotic around dinner time with the smell of dal and rice everywhere. We do not go for any of that high-pressure corporate style; we just talk to our guests like normal people. Sometimes the mountain roads get blocked when it rains hard, and we have to help people figure out their travel plans. The rooms are basic but comfortable enough for a good sleep after a long day of traveling. We keep the garden out front as tidy as we can, though the monkeys sometimes mess things up. It is a quiet life up here for the most part. We just focus on the daily tasks like changing linens and making sure the lights are working. It is just a regular hotel run by folks who like living in the hills and helping people find a place to rest.
