Mangi Lal Chouhan

You can find Mangi Lal Chouhan over in Sojat City at the place known as Dholiwa Ka Bas. This is a small operation, rooted deeply in the local community where everyone basically knows everyone else's business. We don't have a big storefront with bright lights or anything like that, just a simple entrance that stays open to let the breeze in when the Rajasthan heat gets to be too much. Most of our day is spent dealing with people who live just a few streets away, and a lot of the time we end up talking about the local news or the weather while we work. The space inside is practical, with just enough room for the essentials and a few chairs for guests who want to sit for a minute. We have been operating from this same spot for a long time, and the walls show the age of the building, but it works for us. There is no rush here, things happen at a steady pace and we don't try to make them go any faster than they need to. It is about being a reliable presence in the neighborhood where someone can stop by and know they will find us there. We handle the daily tasks as they come, whether it is paperwork or physical labor, and then we close up when the sun goes down over the city.
