About Gajraj Traders – Agriculture & Farming in Sojat
Gajraj House at 28 Pali Road in Sojat is where we spend our days. Being on Pali Road means there is always traffic going by. Sojat is famous for its henna, and while we are traders, we see a lot of that life passing our doors. The building is called Gajraj House, which sounds bigger than it actually feels when you're inside. It’s a solid place, though. We’ve got stacks of ledgers and a computer that’s a few years old now. Most of the trading happens over the phone or with people who just walk in off the street. We don't have any fancy brochures or a PR team. It’s just us. The floor is tile and it stays relatively cool even when the Rajasthan heat is hitting hard outside. We have a small stove in the back to make tea. Everyone who comes in gets a cup. It’s just the way we do things here. We deal with various goods, buying and selling based on what the market is doing that week. It can be stressful when prices change, but we’ve seen it all before. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to run a decent business and keep things moving. The signage outside is clear enough, so people find us. It’s a practical life, being a trader in Sojat. You learn to read people and you learn to be patient. It’s not always exciting, but it’s our job and we do it every day.
