Thakurjee & Co

Thakurjee & Co is based in Khodawandpur Block Village, specifically in the Meghaul area. We are located right near the middle school, so we hear the kids playing and the bells ringing all through the day. It is a quiet village for the most part, except for when school starts or ends. Our business has been in the family for a little while and we handle things mainly for the local farmers and residents here in the tehsil. We don't have a big fancy sign or a modern office. It is just a sturdy building where we keep our supplies and do our daily tasks. Most of our work involves talking to people who walk in from the nearby fields. We spend a lot of time on the phone trying to get items delivered from the bigger towns. Sometimes the phone line is bad or the internet doesn't work well out here, so we have to do things the old-fashioned way by writing everything down in our ledgers. It is a slow pace of life but it suits us just fine. We aren't looking to become some massive company. We just like being part of the village and helping out where we can. On hot afternoons, we usually sit in the shade of the porch and wait for the evening rush of customers. It’s simple, honest work that we feel good about doing every day.
