Rohit General Store

Down in the village of Chakwath, you will find Rohit General Store. We are near the Post Office in Mahuan. The easiest way to spot us is to look for the Hanuman Temple. We are just a short walk from there. It is a quiet village life for the most part. Everyone knows everyone else around here. My store is where people come to get their daily things like soap, flour, or maybe some sweets for the kids. I have been running this place for a long time. The building is old, and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it stays cool inside during the summer. I have a small radio that plays old songs while I wait for customers. In the mornings, the elders come by after visiting the temple. They sit for a bit and talk about the weather or the crops. I do not mind the company. It makes the day go by faster. Sometimes the deliveries from the city are late because the roads get muddy when it rains heavily. We just manage with what we have on the shelves. It is not a supermarket. It is just a counter and some glass jars for the smaller items. My son helps me out when he is not at his school. We know exactly who likes which brand of tea or which biscuits. It is that kind of place. We do not do any advertising. The temple bells tell us when it is time to open.
