Surahia is a quiet spot in Barharia, which is part of the Siwan district in Bihar. We operate out of a space that is care of Dr. Niyazi. It is a simple place, surrounded by the usual sights of a small town. You see a lot of green around here depending on the season, and the air is definitely different than what you get in the big cities. The office isn't much to look at from the outside, just a plain building that fits right in with the rest of the street. Inside, we have what we need to get the day's work done. There are some old wooden tables and a few benches. We don't have a big team of people, just a couple of us who show up every morning. Sometimes the road gets a bit muddy when it rains heavily, making it a little tricky for people to reach us, but we manage. Most people in the area know Dr. Niyazi, so finding the place isn't too hard if you just ask someone on the road. We spend our time going through records and talking to whoever comes by. It’s a very slow-paced life compared to Patna or other big places, but the work still gets finished. We don’t bother with fancy signage or anything like that. It’s just a room where we do our thing and then head home at the end of the day when it gets dark.
