Mahmora Hog Producer Company Limited

We are over in Rangoli Adarsha Gaon at Dipen Phukan’s place. It is a local thing here in Sibsagar. Most of our days are spent with the hogs. It is not some fancy operation with computers everywhere. It is mostly just boots on the ground and getting our hands dirty. The pigs need feeding first thing in the morning, and that is how we start. We have a few guys from the village who help out. It gets really hot and humid here, so we have to keep a close eye on the water and making sure the animals are not getting too stressed. People around here know we are just a producer group trying to make things work. We don't have a big marketing team or a shiny website. If you walk by, you will probably see us hauling feed or cleaning the pens. It is honest work, even if it is a bit smelly sometimes. Dipen’s house is where we keep the records and talk about what needs to be done next. We deal with the local buyers and try to keep things steady. Some years are better than others, depending on the weather and the cost of grain. We just take it one day at a time. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for when the hogs get noisy around feeding time. That is basically us. Just people from Rangoli doing what we know.
