Jumaina Tea Private Limited sits right besides NH-37 in Sivasagar, inside that two-story building that everyone notices because it is next to the G Chung Restaurant. Being so close to the highway means we see a lot of trucks and cars passing by all day long. It gets noisy with the horns, but you get used to it after a few weeks. The ground floor is where most of the heavy lifting happens, and we use the upper floor for the office work and keeping the records straight. Sibsagar has a long history with tea, so we are just one part of that big picture here in the 785640 area. We spend a lot of our time looking at tea leaves and talking to the people who bring them in. The walls in the building could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but for now, they do the job just fine. We have a few desks and chairs upstairs where we sit down to have our own tea during the breaks. Usually, we talk about the weather or how the traffic is moving on the NH-37. It is a simple life of managing bags and making sure the quality is what it should be. We are not trying to be the biggest company in Assam, we just want to keep our building running and make sure the work gets done before the sun goes down and the restaurant next door gets crowded.
