If you are looking for us, we are at 111/122 on South Car Street in Sivagiri. We are right near the A.K.G. Nadar Shop, which everyone in the neighborhood knows well. The street is usually busy with people going to the temple or doing their daily shopping. Our office is a modest room with a couple of old wooden desks and some chairs for visitors. The floor is tiled, and we try to keep it swept, but there is always a bit of grit coming in from the street. We have a couple of ceiling fans that creak a little as they spin, trying to move the hot air around during the summer months. Most of our day is spent looking over documents or talking to people who drop in with questions. It is not a high-pressure environment; we take things as they come. There is a small window that looks out onto the side alley, though there is not much of a view. We have got a water cooler in the corner that makes a glugging sound every now and then. Sometimes we stay late to finish up some work, and you can see the street lights reflecting off the glass front. It is a plain, honest place where we just do our jobs without any extra bells and whistles. We do not have a receptionist or a waiting room, just the main area where all the work happens right in front of you.
