Sakthi Cafe is sitting right on 13, Thiruthangal Road. It’s a small spot, really. We’ve been serving the neighborhood for a while, mostly just coffee and some quick bites that people like. The morning rush starts pretty early because people are heading to work and need their caffeine fix. We don't have fancy furniture or anything like that, just some sturdy tables and chairs where you can sit for a bit. The street outside can get quite noisy with the traffic, but inside it’s usually just the sound of the grinder and people talking. We keep the menu simple. There’s no point in having fifty things if you only do a few well. Most of our regulars don’t even have to order anymore, we just see them coming and start making their usual. It's a routine. Sometimes we run out of things by the afternoon if it’s been a particularly busy day. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. It’s just a regular place for regular people. We don't try to be something we aren't. If you’re walking down Thiruthangal Road, you can’t really miss the smell of the beans. We open up early and close when the evening crowd thins out. It’s a lot of standing on our feet, but seeing the same faces every day makes it okay and keeps us going through the long shifts.
