Preet

Sivagiri is a quiet place most days, but here on Ellaiamman Kovil Street, there is always something moving. We have been at No.185 for a while now. Preet is just what we do every day. People stop by and ask what is going on, and we just tell them we are working. It is not a very big building, but it fits what we need. Sometimes the street gets a bit dusty when the wind blows from the fields, but that is just how it is in Viswanathaperi. We do not have fancy signs or a big lobby. It is mostly just us sitting around the desks or moving things in the back. My cousin helped set up the lights last year because the old ones kept flickering. It feels like home because we spend so much time here. Sometimes the neighbors bring over some tea if it is a slow afternoon. We handle our work as it comes in. There is no big secret to it. We just open the doors in the morning and stay until the sun starts going down behind the houses. Some days are faster than others. If you walk down the street near the temple, you will see our gate. It is a simple spot. We like it that way. It keeps things easy for everyone involved. No one here wears a suit. We just wear what is comfortable for the weather. It is better that way.
