You can find Venkatesh & Company right at number 347 in Singampunari. We are situated very close to the bus stand, which is actually quite good because there is always something going on nearby. The constant noise of the buses pulling in and out has just become part of our daily background music. We have been at this location for many years now, dealing with general trade and various supplies. It is a local operation, mostly just me and a few of my relatives helping out when things get busy during the season. The shop itself is not much to look at from the outside, just a plain storefront with a few simple signs. Inside, we keep a little bit of everything that the local folks might need. We do not bother with any fancy displays or expensive lighting. We just put the items on the shelves and let people look around. A lot of our customers are people catching a bus to the next town or folks living just a few streets away. We know all the local talk and what is happening around the square. It makes the long days much more interesting. We are not trying to change the way things are done. We just want to provide what we can and stay in business. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out in the shade until it comes back.
