Suthanthira Polytechnic College

Down here in Kalaiyarkoil, life moves at its own pace. Suthanthira Polytechnic College is situated right in this part of Sivagangai. We deal with technical stuff mostly. It’s a place for students who want to learn how things actually work with their hands. The workshops can get a bit greasy and loud, but that’s where the real learning happens. We have various departments and labs scattered across the campus. It isn't a brand-new shiny facility, but we have what’s needed to get the job done. The heat in Sivagangai can be a bit much in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy work done early. Students come from all around the local villages. Some of them travel quite a distance to get here every morning. We don't spend money on fancy brochures. Most people find out about us by word of mouth in the local markets. The teachers here have been around for years. They know the equipment and they know the students. It’s a very practical environment. We have some trees for shade where everyone sits during lunch. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the location, but we don't mind. We are just a group of people teaching technical skills to the next generation. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. There's always a motor to fix or a circuit to test somewhere in the building. We just keep moving forward one day at a time.
