Site Engineer

I’m Raja, and I run Site Engineer from my place on Thirunavukarasu Street in Sivagangai. It’s a small operation, just house number 38. I don’t have a big office building or a bunch of managers. It’s just me doing the engineering work that needs to be done for local projects. Most of my time is spent on the road or standing in the dirt at a new construction site. Sivagangai is a place where people know each other, so my reputation is everything. If I do a bad job, everyone finds out pretty quick. I take my tools out, check the levels, look at the soil, and make sure everything is being built the way it’s supposed to be. It’s not fancy work. I usually come home with mud on my shoes and dust in my hair. My office is just a room with a desk, some old files, and my surveying gear. I don’t have a secretary or a marketing plan. People just call my number when they’re starting a new build. We talk about the project over a tea, and then I get to work. I like the fact that I’m helping people in my own town build things that will last. It’s a practical job and it keeps me busy from morning till night. I don’t need anything more than that. It’s just plain, simple engineering for the folks around here who are building their homes and shops.
