Oxford Matric.Hr.Sec.School

Oxford Matric.Hr.Sec.School is located in T.Pudur, which is a quiet pocket of Karaikudi in the Sivaganga district. Despite the grand name, we are a very grounded, local school. The building is large because we have kids from all the different grades, from the little ones to the high schoolers. The walls are a pale color and have been stained by the rain over the years. We have a few yellow school buses that bring students in from the surrounding villages. Inside, the corridors are long and usually have some student artwork pinned up, though it gets a bit tattered after a while. The science lab is a small room with some old sinks and glass jars on the shelves. It’s not fancy, but it does the job. Karaikudi can be very dry, so the ground around the school is mostly dust and a few hardy bushes. We don't have a big auditorium, so when we have a function, we just set up some chairs in the open yard. The staff room is always full of teachers correcting papers and drinking coffee from steel tumblers. We've been a part of T.Pudur for a long time. People here know us, and we know them. The school has a steady rhythm that hasn't changed much over the decades. We mostly deal with the daily routine of bells, classes, and lunch breaks.
