Alagappan Herbal Hospital Private Limited

Alagappan Herbal Hospital is located in Karaikudi, over in the Aruna Nagar area. We are right by the Kampan Manimandapam East side. If you are from around Sivaganga, you probably know the spot. We deal with herbal medicines and traditional ways of looking at health. The smell of dried herbs is pretty much everywhere in the building. It’s a scent you get used to after a couple of days working here. We have a lot of jars and containers filled with different roots and leaves. Most of the work involves measuring things out and talking to people about how they’re feeling. We don’t have all the flashing lights and machines of a modern city hospital. It’s a bit more old-school than that. The floors are stone, and it stays relatively cool inside even when the sun is beating down outside in Karaikkudi. People travel from the nearby villages to see us. We’ve got a small courtyard where patients can sit for a bit. It’s not a fancy place, and we don't try to pretend it is. We just follow the methods we’ve been using for years. My uncle used to say that the plants do most of the work anyway. We just keep the records and make sure the supplies don't run out. It’s a quiet way to run a hospital, but it suits the area well. We just do our job.
