Kanti Book Depo

Our shop, Kanti Book Depo, is tucked away in Sector-3 of Bats Ganj over in Sitapur. We are really close to the Gic Inter College, which means we see a lot of students passing by every single day. Most of them are just looking for a last-minute pen or a specific notebook for their class. We have been in this spot for years, and the building has its quirks, like the door that sticks a bit when it rains. The shelves are filled with textbooks and guides, reaching all the way to the ceiling. I usually have to use a wooden stool to reach the higher ones. It is a quiet area mostly, except for when the college bell rings and the street fills up with kids. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the name on the front. Sitapur is a small place, so news travels by word of mouth. If someone needs a particular register, they usually stop by here first. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the traffic near the college, but we manage. My brother helps out in the evenings when things get a bit more hectic. We keep a ledger for everything, written by hand, because that’s the way we’ve always done it. It feels right to be part of the community here, seeing the same families come in year after year to get their supplies.
