If you are looking for our office, we are over in Tolasathmalpur in the Satmalpur area. Brajbhushan Mahto’s house is where we keep all the records and handle the business for the Warisnagar group. It is a quiet village, and we like it that way. We are not trying to be some huge corporation with big glass offices in the city. We are just local farmers from the panchayat who want to do things the organic way. It is a lot of work to keep everything organized and following the rules. We spend a lot of our time visiting different plots of land and checking on the growth of the crops. Sometimes we sit down and talk for hours about the price of goods or how the heavy rain is affecting the plants. There is not a lot of extra money for decorations, so the office is just a plain room with the essentials like a desk and some chairs. We focus on what really matters, which is the crops and the people growing them. Satmalpur is a place where everyone knows their neighbor. Word spreads fast if something is working or if it is not. We rely on that local trust to keep the company going. It is not always easy to follow all the organic guidelines, but we try our best every day.
