Transhimalayan Infra Private Limited is located at Plot No 299/16 in Suthala. The easiest way to find us is to look for Ashanti Mashala Udyog—we are right across from them. Depending on what they are grinding that day, the whole street smells like turmeric or chili powder, which definitely wakes you up in the morning. We do infrastructure work, which sounds a bit grander than it usually is. Most days it’s just us figuring out how to move dirt and gravel or fixing up some local drainage systems. Suthala is an industrial kind of area, so there are always trucks moving around and people working hard. Our office is pretty basic. We’ve got some old chairs, a big table for maps, and a lot of empty tea cups. We don’t have a fancy logo or a big sales pitch. Most of our work comes from being around and knowing the local suppliers. It’s a lot of physical work and being out on the sites in the sun. We have to deal with the machines breaking down at the worst times and trying to find spare parts in the middle of a project. It’s not an easy way to make a living, but we’ve been at it for a while now and we know the ropes. We just keep doing our thing and trying to stay on top of the schedule. There is always more work to be done.
