We run our Nidhi company from here, focusing on the folks in the Sirsa district who need a local place for their savings. It isn't a fancy setup. We have our desks and our files, and that’s about it. We don’t see the point in spending a lot on a shiny office when the work is what matters. Most of our members are farmers or small shop owners from around Ellenabad. They come in, we talk about their accounts, and we handle the deposits or the small credit they need. It is a very direct way of doing things. We don't have complicated terms or those long brochures that no one actually reads. We just explain the rules in plain language. Sometimes the office gets crowded on market days, but we manage to get through everyone eventually. We are just local people working for other local people.
