Welcome Stores

In the middle of Sadar Bazar everything is always moving and Mahaveer Complex is no different from the rest of the street. Welcome Stores is tucked away in there and we have everything from small household items to things you wouldn't expect to find in a bazar shop. The mornings are usually the quietest time but by noon the hallways of the complex are full of people pushing past each other. We have a lot of shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling so we keep a sturdy ladder handy at all times. It’s not a very modern place and the light bulbs have a bit of a flicker to them sometimes. We’ve thought about fixing that but it’s just one of those things you get used to after a while. Most of the people who come into Welcome Stores are folks from the surrounding streets who need something quick for their homes. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements because word of mouth is usually enough around here in Sadar Bazar. My cousin helps me out behind the counter on the busy days when we can barely keep up with the change. It’s a long day and my feet usually ache by the time we pull the shutters down for the night. But it’s home to us and we like seeing the familiar faces every single day and catching up on the local news.
