Voveshwar Novelty Store

Being located in the Sabji Mandi in Sheoganj means our days start very early. When the vegetable trucks start rolling in, we are usually already getting things ready. It is a loud place, full of shouting and the smell of fresh produce, which we have grown to like over the years. Our store is packed with all sorts of small novelty items. We don't have a lot of space, so things are tucked into every corner and hanging from the ceiling. It can be a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. Kids often come in with a few coins looking for a toy, and we enjoy seeing them pick through the jars. We aren't a big chain store with uniforms or rules. It is just a local spot where you can find things you didn't even know you needed. The floor is concrete and a bit cracked, and the paint on the walls is peeling in a few spots near the back. We don't mind it much because it feels like home to us. Most of our customers are the same people who come to the mandi every day for their onions and potatoes. They stop by for a quick chat or to see if we got anything new in stock. We just take things one day at a time here in the market, trying to stay busy and keep the shelves full of interesting bits and pieces for everyone.
