Vinayak Sweets

Vinayak Sweets is located in Sadar Bazar, right on the New Bus Stand Road. If you know the area, you know how hectic it can get with the buses coming and going all day long. The horns are constantly blowing, but after a while, you just stop hearing them. We open up the shop when the first buses start arriving. The morning air is usually a bit cool, which is good when we are starting the milk boiling. We make our sweets in the back room. It’s a hot and heavy job, stirring the big vats for hours. My hands are usually a bit rough from the work. We put everything out in the glass cases once it’s ready. The display isn't perfect, and sometimes the labels are just handwritten on scraps of paper. It doesn't seem to matter much to the people who stop by. Most of our customers are either waiting for a bus or have just arrived and need something to take home to their families. We have been in Sadar Bazar for quite some time now. The building is old and has a lot of character, even if the roof leaks a tiny bit when the monsoon is very heavy. We just put a bucket under it and keep going. It’s a simple business run by people who live right nearby. We just focus on getting the sweets made and helping the people who come through the door.
