Super General Store

I’ve been stationed here at the Super General Store for a long time, right by the Sheoganj Old Bus Stand. Being near the bus stand means things never really stop. I get people who are just passing through and need a bottle of water or some snacks for their journey, and then I have the local regulars who come in for their weekly groceries. The shop is a bit old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it’s got everything from soap to rice. I keep the bins of grains near the front so people can see what the stock looks like. It’s often dusty because of all the buses pulling in and out nearby, so I spend a lot of time with a duster in my hand. Sometimes the bus drivers stop in for a quick cigarette or just to stretch their legs and have a chat. It’s a busy atmosphere and it can get a bit overwhelming when three buses arrive at once, but that’s just the way it is at the old bus stand. I don't have any help, so I do everything myself—ordering, stocking, and serving. It’s a lot of standing around on hard floors, but I like seeing all the different faces that pass through Sheoganj. It’s just a plain general store, but it serves its purpose for the travelers and the locals alike.
