Meenu Tasvir

Sadar Bazar is where we have our shop, Meenu Tasvir. It is a place filled with frames and pictures and all the tools we use to put them together. The air always smells a bit like wood dust and glue. We have been doing this for years, helping people put their family photos or religious prints into frames so they can hang them on their walls. Our workspace is usually covered in scraps of matting and bits of glass. It isn't the cleanest place, but we know where everything is. People bring in things that are important to them, and we take our time with the work, even if we are a bit slow sometimes. We don't use any fancy machinery; it is mostly just hand tools and a lot of patience. The bazaar outside is always noisy, but inside it feels a bit quieter, surrounded by all those faces in the pictures. We have seen all kinds of things come through the door, from old wedding photos that are falling apart to new posters for someone’s bedroom. We don't do much advertising. Most people just walk in because they saw our sign or their neighbor told them about us. We aren't looking to get rich or expand to ten locations. We just like the work we do and being part of the community here in the bazaar. It’s a decent way to spend the day for us.
