Marudhar Collection

Marudhar Collection is right across from Veer Prabhu on Kalapura Road. Sheoganj is a place where everyone seems to know everyone else's business. I spend a lot of my day standing out front just watching the bikes go by on Kalapura Road. The shop is filled with different fabrics and ready-made clothes. It’s a lot to keep track of. I’m usually busy untangling hangers or trying to remember where I put a specific size for someone. The floors are just plain cement and the lighting is those long tube lights that flicker sometimes. It isn't a place where you'd find anything modern. We have been here for a good while, and the sign outside is a bit faded from the sun. I don't mind it. It shows we've been working. The afternoons are slow when the sun is directly overhead. I usually sit in the back and eat my lunch from a steel tiffin. Sometimes a neighbor drops by to complain about the heat or the price of diesel. We don't use any big words or have a mission statement. We just open the doors, sweep the floor, and wait for customers. It’s a simple routine. By the time evening rolls around, the street gets a bit cooler and more people come out. That’s when we do most of our sales. It’s just how life goes here on Kalapura Road.
