The shop at Hajari Swaroopganj is usually pretty greasy because that's just the nature of working with engines and heavy parts. Laxmi Batterys & Radiators isn't the kind of place you come if you want to keep your clothes clean. We spend our days leaning over old radiators or checking connections on truck batteries that have seen better times. It’s loud work and there is usually a radio playing somewhere in the back but you can barely hear it over the sound of the tools. Swaroopganj is a place where people rely on their vehicles to get things done so we are always busy fixing something that broke down at the wrong time. We have stacks of old metal and battery casings out back that we need to sort through eventually. The floor is stained with oil and coolant and no matter how much we scrub it always looks the same. It’s just me and a couple of other guys working here and we’ve known each other for years so we don't have to talk much to know what needs to be done. Laxmi Batterys & Radiators is just a practical spot for people who need their machines back on the road. We don't have a fancy waiting room so most folks just stand around and talk while we work on their stuff. It's a simple life but it's ours and we wouldn't change it for a desk job.
