Balaji Gifit & Genral Store

You can find us on Palace Road, which is usually quite busy with people heading toward the center of town. Our store is a mix of all sorts of things. We call it a gift and general store because that is exactly what it is. One shelf might have soap and toothpaste, and the one right next to it is full of shiny gift wraps or small statues. We didn't really plan it to be any specific way; it just grew based on what people around here kept asking for. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful where we step when new stock arrives in those big cardboard boxes. Sometimes they sit in the aisle for a day or two before we get around to opening them. We have been here on Palace Road for a good while now. We’ve seen the neighbors' kids grow up and start coming in on their own to buy snacks or school supplies. It’s a nice feeling to be part of the daily routine for people living nearby. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us behind the counter, ringing things up and bagging them. Some days are slow and we just watch the traffic go by, while other days we barely have time to sit down for lunch. It’s just regular work that we do every single day.
